Antonio Carluccio OBE heads the celebrity chef line-up at this year’s Motorhome and Caravan Show, joining other names from the world of TV cooking and fine dining in the LIVE Theatre. Demonstrating their favourite dishes and ideas, chefs give their tips while cooking live from new-for-2018 products officially launching each day of the show. The UK’s largest leisure vehicle event runs from 17 to 22 October 2017 at Birmingham’s NEC.
Italian Antonio Carluccio is a famed restaurateur, opening London’s Neal Street Restaurant in 1981, alongside a delicatessen in 1991 and the first Carluccio’s Caffé in 1998. Cookery writer, TV presenter and authority on food, Antonio’s motto is MOF MOF: Minimum Of Fuss, Maximum Of Flavour, and perfect for caravan and motorhome holiday cooking.
Joining Antonio on the show’s schedule is Lisa Faulkner: actress, presenter and food author. As a TV soap star, her first step into the world of cooking was as winner of Celebrity Masterchef 2010. Lisa has co-hosted shows including Channel 5’s Real Food Family Cook-Off and Channel 4 series What’s Cooking?, as well as regular appearances on ITV’s This Morning. Her passion for food, particularly cooking with children, has also been shared through her recipe books: Recipes From My Mother for My Daughter, The Way I Cook and Tea & Cake.
On opening day, 17 October is chef Ellis Barrie, this year’s north west winner of TV’s The Great British Menu, and proprietor along with his brother Liam of The Marram Grass restaurant at White Lodge Caravan Park in Anglesey. The brothers, who transformed the café on their parents’ caravan site will share favourite recipes along with their secrets of cooking on a campsite.
Chef Dean Edwards focuses on familiar, everyday ingredients as he creates his favourite food in the LIVE Theatre. Dean left behind his job as a digger driver in 2006 to pursue his love for cooking. Now, more than ten years on, Dean’s simple yet delicious dishes are featured regularly on ITV’s Lorraine andThis Morning, as well as in his cookbooks Mincespiration! and Feel Good Family Food.
Head chef of Roux at Parliament Square, Steve Groves will swap his London kitchen for the LIVE Theatre. Joining Michel Roux Jr’s central London institution as Head Chef in 2013 after winning Masterchef: The Professionals in 2009, his impressive career includes Michelin-starred institutions Le Gavroche and The Ledbury.
Birmingham resident and Jamaican-native Rustie Lee brings her vibrant personality and Caribbean cooking talents to the stage. With a loyal following from her TV-AM appearances, roles on stage and screen, and books including her Caribbean Cookbook and Taste of the Caribbean, Rustie creates easy dishes to be enjoyed outdoors, celebrating the fun of cooking from a leisure vehicle.
The Motorhome and Caravan Show is the biggest launch event of its kind in the UK. As well as celebrity chef cooking demonstrations in the LIVE Theatre, industry experts share their inspirational tips on leisure vehicle ownership and holidays. With all the new-for-2018 motorhome and caravan models revealed, visitors can access over 700 leisure vehicles from leading manufacturers and dealers, and try their hand at caravan towing and motorhome manoeuvring. With features from the Woodland Trust and Guide Dogs for The Blind Association, the show is a perfect family day out with kids going free.
